World Monitor (“the app”) is a read-only viewer for publicly available news, market and hazard data. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with data.

Data we do not collect

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically:

• There are no accounts and no sign-in of any kind.
• There is no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising SDK.
• There is no tracking, and no data is shared with data brokers.
• The app never requests your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, or health data.
• There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Data stored on your device

The app saves a small number of display preferences locally, using the system’s standard preference storage. These never leave your device and are removed when you delete the app:

• Which map data layers are switched on
• Clock timezone and date format
• Visual effect toggles
• The selected market-sector view mode

Network requests

To display live information, the app fetches publicly readable data over HTTPS. These requests carry no account identifier and no advertising identifier — only what any web browser would send when loading a public page.

• world-monitor.com — news events, wire feed, OSINT location summaries, disease outbreaks, earthquakes, ISS position, market data, and webcam listings.
• CARTO and OpenStreetMap — dark basemap tiles.
• Apple Maps — globe view imagery and place search, handled by the operating system.
• Polymarket — prediction-market odds.
• Yahoo Finance and TradingView — quote and sector data.
• Windy — webcam thumbnails and the embedded player.

Opening a source article or a live stream hands the link to your browser or the relevant service, at which point that service’s own privacy policy applies.

Children

The app is a general news and data viewer and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it.
